Tour Details

This is a very special tour that concentrates in the Serengeti, to follow the Great Migration. You will spend at least 3 nights in the park, usually two in the Central Area (largest concentration of big cats) and two where the Migration is according to the time of the year. We have designed this particular tour so that you finish the safari in the most remote location in the Serengeti, and then fly from there to your next destination.

Itinerary

Day 1Free Airport pick up service to the customer.

Our guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to our office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, our guides know well the country and Arusha city, so you’ll be in good hands from when you arrive to the moment you leave. We recommend our customer to book Arusha tourist Inn hotel or Meru INN hotel. They have the best value for money for a one night stay before the safari. We can also reserve a room for you. Get a lower rate if we book a room for you.

Day 2Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Pickup from your hotel at 8:00am and start a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley for a full day game drive. The park has breathtaking scenery and well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as to a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Permanent residents of this park also include giraffes, elephants, impalas and a huge amount of buffaloes. The lake is also home to a large number of hippos. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are something that can not be described with words, and the game drives along the lake provide stunning photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground and the lake in the background. Some possible extra tours are possible, including a bike tour or a boat excursion. Afternoon return to the mid-range tented camp or for dinner.

Day 3Lake Manyara to Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is located 115 km south of Arusha. It is a long and narrow park that covers 2850 km2 and runs along the Tarangire River. The name of the park is taken from the river, which is the only source of water for the wild animals that live here during the dry season. The park is famous for its large number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons(lions). At the end of the day we arrive at mid-range Tented Camp where you can relax at the swimming pool.

Day 4 to 5Serengeti National Park

Today you will head into the Serengeti and spend three days exploring this amazing park. At the end of each game drive you will head to a mid-range tented camp in the middle of Serengeti where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. The Serengeti covers an area of about 30,000 km2 in the north of Tanzania and Kenya, 80% of which is located in Tanzania. The park is famous for the migration involving about 1.5 million herbivores and thousands of predators fleeing drought in search of fresh water and grazing. After the rains arrive in mid-April they make the reserve journey via a detour through the western portion of the Serengeti. Grasslands cover more than one third of the park and you will find many animals here throughout the year. At the end of the day we overnight at Mid-range tented Camp.

On day 5 we do a game drive in Serengeti in the morning and in the afternoon we’re heading to Ngorongoro conservation area where we overnight in mid-range tented camp

Day 6Ngorongoro crater

We wake up early in the morning and eat breakfast before making your way into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is 20 km in diameter, 600 m high and is the largest intact crater in the world. An estimated 30,000 large mammals live in the crater, which features a salt lake at its center. This is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world! The Masai and Hadzabe people live together in harmony with the animals that also call this place home. From the edge you will look out over the impressive crater and all of its wonderful inhabitants. In the afternoon we will drive back to Arusha in time for dinner and over night.

Day 7Arusha National Park

Despite the small size of the park, common animals include giraffe, buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingos and more. African elephants and leopards are present, but rarely seen. The park is at the base of Mount Meru, which is good for climbing. Birdlife in the forest is prolific, with many forest species more easily seen here.Though very accessible, Arusha NP isn’t on many safari itineraries. This is mainly because it doesn’t offer a chance of seeing the Big 5. It has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding.
