This Safari is designed to give you memorable encounter with the wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Game Park. This park is the most popular tourist destinations in Uganda. It is not popular for its name or anything else, but for tourist attractions found therein, the scenery in the environs and the tour activities engaged in by people who visit this park.

While on this safari, you will enjoy conducting game drives that may give you opportunity to see animals of this wild such as lions, elephants, the Uganda Kob and buffalos. The Safari will enable you do Chimp tracking in Kalinzu Forest and also avail you opportunity to have a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where at, you will likely view water adapted animals as well as a variety of bird species. The crater lakes in the environs of the park and the sighting of the Rwenzori Mountains give you more reason to take on this Safari.

Itinerary

Day 1Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Game Park

Upon arrival and after being briefed by our Safari guide, you embark on travelling to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is located in the Western part of Uganda and is close to mountain Rwenzori and rests in the floor of the Albertine Rift. The journey time is between 5 to 6 hours and therefore this day will mainly involve travelling.

However the route to the park crosses the imaginary line of the Equator at Kayabwe-Mpigi District. You will make a brief stopover at the equator where at you can take photos for your memories and supplementation of your photo gallery/collection. At the same point, you will find a variety of crafts that represent much about Ugandan Culture, animals of Africa and the history of Uganda and Africa. After your enroute lunch from Mbarara, you will proceed with your drive while further observing and enjoying the natural and beautiful terrain, estates, plantations and escarpments of the western rift valley.

Day 2Chimpanzee tracking in Kalinzu forest

This day is reserved to avail you with opportunity to conduct Chimpanzee tracking. The activity starts with briefing where instructions on how to track chimpanzees are passed on.

Kalinzu Forest is home to over 220 chimpanzees, over 414 species of trees, primates like Blue monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Black and white colobus monkeys, and a variety of bird species as well different animals.

The forest is only accessible on foot and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects. Chimpanzees are the closest relatives to humans sharing about 98.7% of their DNA composition with humans. They are sociable, intelligent as well as communicative and among their very interesting traits are their abilities to utilize tools like rocks for crushing nuts, empty pods for hollowing out water plus sticks for capturing termites from their holes. A successful track of the chimpanzees will give you beautiful lasting memories about Uganda.

After tracking chimps, you will be transferred back to the lodge to relax for the rest of the day.

Day 3Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive and Boat cruise

This day focuses on enabling you explore the wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is intended to enable you get a feeling of what Queen Elizabeth National Park contains. The game drive will take you through the park’s diverse ecosystem, which includes sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands. Being an ideal habitat for many animals, the ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds, we believe that you may get opportunity to spot Elephants, Buffalos, lions, Leopards, Warthogs, Hyenas, water bucks, Uganda Kob and many bird species including Ibis, Fish Eagles and vultures among others that live in this park.

The jagged Rwenzori Mountains and the dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills will avail you moments of sighting wonders of nature.

On return from the game drive, you will have lunch and in the afternoon go for boat-cruise on the famous Kazinga channel. This is a natural link connecting Lake George with Lake Edward. On the cruise, you may be able to view great numbers of wildlife including Elephants, crocodiles, Hippos, Buffaloes and large numbers of birds like Fish Eagles, kingfishers, Egrets, Cormorants converging at the channel waters to enjoy a sip of the natural waters. You will then be driven back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

 

 

Day 4Transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will embark on the drive back to Entebbe taking Kasese – Fortportal road where you will have a better view of the mountain of the moon-Rwenzori. Along the way, you will continue enjoying the beaitiful and scenic views of Uganda’s countryside.
