Tour Details

Day 1: Your arrival in Rwanda.
Day 2: Pick up – Transfer to Nyungwe National park.
Day 3: Chimps Tracking – Canopy walk/nature walk/birding
Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking & Tour the Twin Lakes.
Day 6: Golden Monkeys Tracking Dian Fossey Grave Hike – Ibyiwacu Cultural Tour
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Kivu for Boat Ride – Tour Nyamurundi Island.

Itinerary

Day 1Your arrival in Rwanda

On day -1, you will arrive in Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills. Here, you will meet our driver-guide who will receive you with a warm smile and he will drive you to your overnight stay hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we might be able to take you around Kigali, for a great glance at the city Rwanda’s capital.

Day 2Pick up – Transfer to Nyungwe National park

Our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel, and hit the road to Nyungwe forest national park. Dinner and Overnight stay will be at one of these facilities: Nyungwe Forst Lodge ( Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Hotel (Mid-range), Gisakura Guest House (Basic).

Day 3Chimps Tracking – Canopy walk/nature walk/birding

Wake up to an early breakfast at your hotel then proceed with our guide to the Nyungwe forest headquarters for a briefing about tracking chimps. The rangers know the best spots where you can easily track the chimpanzees. As you hike through the forest, you will come across other primates like monkeys, these will excite you as you get closer to the chimpanzees. After a wonderful time with the chimpanzees, you return for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, you go for a forest canopy walk and later return for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 4Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Have an early breakfast at your lodge and our driver-guide will drive you to Volcanoes National Park. The drive will take you via Lake Kivu where you will have clear views of the water body and take pictures of the beautiful area. Have lunch en route and continue with our interesting drive. Arrive late and check in to your lodge for dinner and rest at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Volcanoes Lodge ( Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge / La Palme (Mid-range), Muhabura Hotel (Basic).

Day 5Gorilla Tracking & Tour the Twin Lakes

Wake up to an early breakfast at your lodge then proceed with our driver-guide to the Volcanoes park headquarters as early as 7:30am. After a short guide-briefing as regards your expected gorilla tracking activity, you will enter the rain forest in search of the mountain gorillas. Once you meet the gentle giants, you are allowed to spend a maximum of one hour with the gorillas and then return to your lodge.
In the afternoon if you are up for it, head out and tour the twin lakes of Burera & Ruhondo. Later return for Dinner and an overnight resting at your lodge.

Day 6Golden Monkeys Tracking Dian Fossey Grave Hike – Ibyiwacu Cultural Tour

Wake up to an early breakfast at your lodge then proceed to the Kinigi park headquarters for breifing the Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Kandti), now listed as endangered because of their small numbers. You will be separated in groups of 6 people maxixum, and the trackking will take most of the day. After the trek, return to the lodge and relax and later you will go on a community walk. Or you can opt to Hike to the Karisoke Gorilla Research Centre which Dian Fossey, the famous primatologist set up.

Day 7Transfer to Lake Kivu for Boat Ride – Tour Nyamurundi Island.

Have breakfast at the lodge and later transfer to Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is the largest freshwater body offering tourists a relaxing environment while in Rwanda. You will have a boat ride along Lake Kivu and a visit to Nyamirundi island. Dinner and overnight at Palm gardens resort (Deluxe)/ Paradise Malahide (Budget), where we might have chosen to stay.

Day 8Transfer to Kigali for _departure flight

Have breakfast at the lodge and later drive back to Kigali for a grand city tour. Expect to tour historical places like the genocide memorial site, and the national museum. Later have lunch and drop it off at either your hotel or the airport.

Included in the price;

  • A gorilla trekking permit per person
  • Private transport in 4×4 safari vehicle throughout the trip
  • Services of a professional full time English speaking driver / tour guide
  • 1 Night accommodation and meals (Full board)
  • Enroute meals, bottled mineral water for refreshment
  • All tour activities as per the itinerary

  • International flights
  • Visas (if applicable)
  • other personal expenses like tips for staff and beverages.

 

Location
Your safari trip will take place in several locations in Uganda including Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Forest National Park.

Food
We do not cover meals because we do not know what you will want to eat as there is plenty to eat here.
