Enjoy game drives to The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous safari destinations. World renowned for its great wildlife population, the reserve stretches 1,510 sq. km (580 sq. miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. The terrain of the park is primarily grassland and riverine forest with clumps of distinctive acacia trees.
This is where the Great Wildebeest Migration unfolds between the Masai Mara and the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania with over 2 million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle migrating annually.
You will be able to see the wildebeest migration crossing the famous river called Mara River and it is the best time to witness when the crocodiles grabbing them. Never far away are the predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena which our guides are finely tuned to finding. Upon your arrival at Kenyata airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have an opportunity to explore the city of
Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city. Nairobi is the most dynamic city, also known as the “green city in the sun” for many reasons. It is Kenya’s largest city with a population of nearly four million. Nairobi is a city full of contrasts. It’s old enough so you can feel its past and multi-ethnic enough so you can experience Kenyan culture, yet it’s modern enough to get Internet access. It’s a city that blends people from all cultures and walks of life. Adorned with modern skyscrapers, world class restaurants, fully equipped hospitals, modern shopping malls, schools, abundant private and public transportation, and universities and colleges that provide local and international curriculum – you will find it all in Nairobi.
The city is also home to numerous local and international businesses and organizations. Nairobi bustles with activity. It’s a city that never sleeps; the rhythm is fast, day and night. There’s always something to do and see in Nairobi and its people are friendly and hospitable
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be collected by your professional safari guide heading to Maasai Mara, it will take 3 to 4 hrs from Nairobi depending on traffic. On this day you will not have a full day game drive but after arrival you will plan with your private safari guide if you can do an afternoon game or just relax at the camp enjoying different sounds of birds surrounds the camp.
After breakfast you will have either a full day or half day game drive depending on how you will plan with your guide and how the morning game will offer you. Rise early with tea or coffee brought to your tent then set off as the sun rises for a wilderness awakening game drive. The verdant plains host a fabulous array of plains game such as gazelles, impala, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and eland. Never far away are the predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena which our guides are finely tuned to finding.
This is our last day of safari and after breakfast, we pick up packed lunches and we depart for Nairobi embarking on a final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara Reserve en-route.
Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
